Martin Svendson spent 20 years with BellSouth, where he was responsible for fleet operations in nine states, before returning to his hometown of Baton Rouge and deciding to turn his longtime passion for real estate into a career. He became a licensed real estate agent in Louisiana in 2000. Following a brief stint with C.J. Brown as a residential agent in Baton Rouge, he worked as a commercial agent for Property One Inc., where his responsibilities included site selection, land brokerage, office leasing and retail leasing. He joined Thornton, Harvison & Rhodes in 2003 and now specializes in site selection, land brokerage and development, with a focus on student housing and multifamily projects. Svendson developed and sold the Bluebonnet Crossing Shopping Center, a 15,000-square-foot retail development in Baton Rouge, and has assembled the properties for several multifamily projects in the area, including The Fieldhouse condominiums near the LSU campus.
The 98-unit Capstone Development Corp. project is currently under construction. Svendson has held the CCIM designation since 2004 and is a licensed broker in Louisiana, Florida and Colorado. A graduate of Catholic High in Baton Rouge, he and his wife Moo have three children: Robert, 25; Jeanne, 24; and Wade Jr., 19. |
